If you are a happy iPhone 6s user with an iPhone that works perfectly – this article may not be for you. But if you are facing problems with your iPhone 6s, like i.e. a battery that shuts down without warning, then you may have purchased a faulty battery with your iPhone 6s.
Apple is aware of the issue, and if you think your phone is eligible for a replacement of the battery you will have to make an appointment at an Apple retail store or an Apple authorized service provider. You can also contact Apple’s technical support team.
Apple says, according to NBC News, “A very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down.” These phones are from a “limited serial number range” and were manufactured between September and October of last year.
Before changing you battery you´ll want to make sure your data is safe in iCloud or iTunes.
For the cloud, go to Settings, iCloud and make sure backup is turned on. Next, click “Backup now.”
For iTunes, connect your iPhone 6s, then choose the device on your computer and follow the necessary steps to complete the backup.
