US Postal Service is emailing photos of letters and packages

Maybe it seems unnecessary but for some reason the US Postal Service, USPS, has started to take a photo of every single mail before they send it out to the receiver.

One of the smart things about this is that you will be able to keep an eye on what is in your mailbox at home even when you are travelling.

This free service will send up to 10 photos in black-and-white every single day and if you receive more than that you will be able to see the photos of your mail online on the same site where you are normally tracking your packages.

Ever since 2013 the US Postal Service has been taking pictures of every letter and package – or at least the exterior of it.
