Even though the app ”YouTube Kids” had a quit bad start in the US, they are now launching the app to be available in Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
The reason of the bad start of “Youtube Kids” is that many parents has made complains about the app showing adult content like sexual videos that the filter of the app should take care of. Also there has been some complains about the ads, because it was difficult to see the difference between ads and video content.
YouTube´s respond to these complains is that “no algorithm is perfect, and even a perfect algorithm is no substitute for a parent or guardian’s judgment”.
Up until the global launch, the ad-supported app has seen 10 million downloads, though Google-owned YouTube has had to deal with occasional missteps with the service.
